Dil Raju has faced a lot of issues with Game Changer delays and budget surges. Adding to this, the release postponement has become one more headache for the ace producer. The movie was announced for Christmas release as there was no other date available.
Now the makers can’t postpone it much longer due to OTT commitments. However, the business has not closed so far for the Christmas release due to the high prices and lack of interest from distributors
But now with Vishwambhara postponing its release, Dil Raju has hit a big jackpot by moving Game Changer to Sankranti. The distributors have been informed of the same yesterday. Vishwambhara will mostly be moving to the Summer of 2025. Due to this festive release, there will be no issues for OTT as well and a huge business is expected for Sankranti.
Sankranti is a big season for Telugu releases and thankfully for Dil Raju, no tier 1 hero is arriving at that time. Due to this advantage, distributors will be ready to take Game Changer for higher prices. If the movie works well, then the revenues and overflows will be very huge. A Sankranti release means the film has an advantage in the Tamil market as well. Right now, there is only a possibility of Ajith’s film Vidaamuyarchi being released for that time. Since Sankranti can accommodate 2-3 films, it won’t be a big problem.
Now the only question that remains is whether Dil Raju will release Venkatesh – Anil Ravipudi’s film during Sankranti or not. Two movies from the same production house have been released for 2023 Sankranti with Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy releasing for the festive season. It needs to be seen if the ace producer okays this idea or moves Venkatesh film to some other date.
