The Malayalam blockbuster Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra has broken several box office records and is now the biggest hit in Mollywood. While there have been ongoing rumors about its OTT release, producer Dulquer Salmaan has clarified that there is no rush to bring the film to streaming platforms.
Other Onam releases like Mohanlal’s Hridayapooravam and Fahadh Faasil’s Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira are arriving on OTT this week, which led many to believe that Lokah would also stream soon. However, the team has already informed theatre owners that the female superhero film will not be available online until its full theatrical run is complete.
Lokah Not Arriving On OTT Anytime Soon
Today, Dulquer Salmaan posted on Instagram confirming that he and his team are in no hurry to release Lokah on OTT. The film has already earned huge profits from its theatrical run and continues to perform strongly. On its 25th day in theatres, Lokah collected over ₹3 crore in Kerala which is more than its opening day, showing how well the film is still doing.
With the film’s strong box office momentum, the team now has the flexibility to negotiate better deals and terms with OTT platforms.
