Hema Malini, the renowned actress and politician, and the wife of veteran actor Dharmendra, took to her X (Twitter) account to respond to false rumors about the actor’s death. She clarified that Dharmendra is doing well, receiving treatment, and recovering.
She wrote, “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about someone who is under treatment and getting better? This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please respect the family’s privacy.”
Dharmendra’s daughter, Esha Deol, also addressed the rumours about her father’s health on Instagram, saying that the media is overreacting and confirmed that her father is alive and fighting.
Earlier, the Deol family released an official statement saying, “Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”
Meanwhile, family members, including Hema Malini, Tanya Deol, and Sunny Deol with his son, were spotted visiting the hospital. Actor Salman Khan also arrived at Breach Candy Hospital to check on the veteran star.
This incident comes just days after similar rumours on November 1 claimed that Dharmendra had been hospitalized due to breathing issues. With such false reports spreading repeatedly, the family has urged everyone to trust only official updates.
Dharmendra has been a major figure in Indian cinema for nearly six decades. He began his acting career in 1960 and is known for his versatility, playing both romantic and action roles. With over 300 films to his credit, he has delivered many memorable performances that include Veeru in Sholay and roles in Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Chupke Chupke, Dharam Veer, and Pratigya. He will next be seen in Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan.
