The operator of the piracy website iBomma, Immadi Ravi, has suffered a setback in court. The Nampally court has rejected his bail petitions in five cases registered at the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Station.
Immadi Ravi recently approached the Nampally court seeking bail in these five cases. The court heard the bail petitions on Wednesday. During the hearing, Ravi told the court that he would not leave Hyderabad and would fully cooperate with the police investigation. He also assured the court that he would not engage in piracy activities in the future.
However, the police informed the court that the investigation is still in progress. They also stated that Ravi holds citizenship in multiple countries and argued that there is a risk of him fleeing abroad if bail is granted.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court rejected Immadi Ravi’s request. The Nampally court refused to grant bail in all five cases and dismissed his bail petitions.
