Cold war continues between Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna

Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna are one of the strongest pillars of Tollywood. Both the stars command great support from within the industry as well a from the fans. Their works both on screen, as well as off-screen, have brought both these stars a great deal of respect over the years.

However, all is not well between the two stars now. Tollywood bigwigs will meet AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy in the last week of August. The ticket prices issue and other areas of support for Tollywood are going to be the prime agenda items for this meet. Megastar Chiranjeevi recently called a meeting to discuss and prepare for the meet with Jagan.

All the industry bigwigs were present at the meeting except Balakrishna. The meeting saw Nagarjuna, Allu Arvind, Suresh Babu, Dil Raju among many other top directors and producers present. Chiranjeevi, however, chose not to invite Balayya and this has given rise to reports of a rift between the two stars.

This is not the first time such an incident has happened. Tollywood bigwigs including Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, SS Rajamouli, etc. met minister KTR last year to discuss the way ahead for Tollywood post-Corona. Balakrishna was not invited to this meeting expressed his strong displeasure. He even accused Chiranjeevi and co. of meeting KTR for real estate deals.

“I was not invited to the meeting and I came to know about it from news reports. Did they meet to discuss the distribution of lands in Hyderabad? They are doing real estate business. Am I not part of the industry?” asked Balakrishna.

Naga Babu criticized this statement and even demanded an apology from the ‘Akhanda’ actor. While Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna have been on good terms in the past, this distasteful statement from Balayya might have prompted Chiranjeevi to not invite him.
