Story: Ranga Nayaki (Radhika Sarathkumar) and her family members, who have been dealing with some issues, are advised by Swamiji (Rao Ramesh) to offer prayers to their family deity. The temple where they need to perform prayers is located near Vettaiya’s palace. Basavaiah (Vadivelu) rents the palace to the family. However, they are unaware of Chandramukhi’s evil spirit’s presence in the palace. What difficulties did the family experience because of the spirit? How Is Madhan (Lawrence) related to the family and Chandramukhi? What is the specific intention of Chandramukhi’s spirit in harming the family of Ranga Nayaki? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Performances: Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence both performed well in their roles. Especially they excelled in the climax episode. Radhika Sarath Kumar, Lakshmi Menon, and Rao Ramesh were apt, while Mahima Nambiar and others were ok. Vadivelu could not impress this time with his comedy.

Positives:

  • Spirit Revealing Episode
  • Flashback
  • Climax

Negatives:

  • Silly Comedy
  • No Horror Elements
  • Weak First Half

Verdict:

Overall, Chandramukhi 2 is a decent watch. The flashback in the second half, a few emotional scenes and the climax work well for the film, while Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence also made an Impact with their performances. The silly comedy, lack of thrills and a below par first half act as the minus points for the film.
