With the downfall of the non-theatrical market, several movies are facing strict budget constraints. Few films are even getting shelved after announcements and a lot of publicity. This is happening particularly in the case of mega young heroes. Recently Sai Dharam Tej also faced these challenges for Ganjayi Shankar. The project was officially announced with a glimpse of Sampath Nandi as the director. With the budget going overboard on its paper itself the team put the project on hold and is trying to cut corners with the budget.
Now, Varun Tej is also facing the same issues as his recent films completely crashed at the box office. His movies are struggling to lock in good thetarical offers and now non thetarical offers also not showing positive signs. The shooting of his next film Matka started in mid-December and it was planned on a high budget. Matka was planned as a pan-India release under Palasa director Karuna Kumar’.
The film is based on a real incident and with the backdrop of the 1960s, the story will span 24 years from 1958 to 1982. Now the makers of this project are also in a dilemma with Varun Tej’s recent form and movie going over budget.
Vaishnav Tej is also facing the same issues. After his blockbuster debut Uppena, he delivered massive disasters recently in the form of Aadikeshava. His other films like Kondapolam and Ranga Ranga Vaibhavamga also failed to make a mark at the box office. All the mega young heroes are facing budget struggles for their upcoming films and their recent track record has raised further concerns.
