After a highly impressive month of August for Tollywood, September has been a harsh month for the industry. The month started with Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga and First Day First Show which failed miserably at the box office. Both the films crashed out on the opening day itself and proved to be complete disasters for all parties involved.
After which we had an exception in the form of Oke Oka Jeevitham which proved yet again that content always wins. Oke Oka Jeevitham became a massive success at the box office and also attracted huge numbers in theatres.
This was again followed by two utter disasters in the form of Aa Ammayi Gurunchi Meeku Cheppali and Nenu Meeku Baaga Kaavalsinavadini. Both the movies ended up with barely any shares and proved to be major losses for the exhibitors.
The latest releases are no different either. They have failed to pull in the required numbers and most movies have even failed to collect rents on the opening day. Sree Vishnu’s Alluri has posted average reviews and Naga Shourya’s Krishna Vrindha Vihari is also no different.
Almost all the theatres are now running in deficits. The exhibitors are eagerly looking forward to the Dasara releases to bring back the momentum among the trade circles.
