Sumanth’s new movie, Anaganaga, has created excitement with its beautiful posters and trailers. This ETV original is now streaming on ETV Win. Let’s see how it fares in our review.

Story:

Vyas (Sumanth), a schoolteacher, prefers innovative teaching over conventional styles. He supports concept-based learning, but his wife, Bhagi (Kajal Chowdary), the school principal, disagrees. The story takes a turn when Vyas’s son Ram and some classmates fail their exams. The school management is unhappy and fires Vyas. What’s Vyas’s next move? In what way he supports his son and fellow students to achieve top marks? Check out the film on ETV Win to know more.

Performances:

Sumanth delivers a strong performance as Vyas. His emotional scenes, especially with his son, feel authentic. Kajal Choudhary is fine, while Master Viharsh is natural. Avasarala Srinivas’s character’s scope is limited, while Anu Hasan and Rakesh Rachakonda are good. B.V.S. Ravi, Kaumudi Nemani, and others are alright.

Director Sunny Sanjay intertwines educational issues with a gripping father-son and husband-wife conflict, creating the film’s emotional heart.

The father-son storyline stands out in the film. The son’s emotional struggle between his father’s beliefs and his mother’s harsh policies resonates well, along with the handling of husband-wife personal/professional tensions is effective. Many films have depicted a dedicated teacher fighting the system for student success. Here, Sunny Sanjay tries to present it with a family emotion backdrop in Anaganaga.

However, the way Sumanth’s character challenges the school system is not that convincing. His actions and the depiction of his fight for change in education needed clearer presentation. The film doesn’t effectively communicate his concept of using stories for teaching kids, and a stronger alignment with those stories to school topics could have made the film more real.

Positives:

  • Sumanth’s Performance
  • Father – Son Scenes/Dialogues
  • Climax

Negatives:

  • Predictable Feel in the Middle Parts
  • Lack of Proper Elevation/Establishment of Hero’s Ideas of Teaching

Anaganaga Movie Review and Verdict:

Sumanth’s film Anaganaga presents a heartfelt emotional drama. Despite its predictability and some ineffective parts, Sumanth’s impressive acting, the emotional father-son plot, and insightful take on education make it a worthwhile film.
