Amazon Prime Video Introduces Ads – Subscribers Not Happy

The streaming giant Amazon Prime Video plans to add limited ads to its content from June 17, 2025, to fund more engaging shows and movies. The subscribers are not happy as Amazon Prime Video introduces ads.

The streaming service confirmed that the ongoing Prime membership prices will stay unchanged, but users can access ad-free content with a new add-on feature. This decision has not gone well with the users of the app.

Prime Video to introduce ads from June 17 2025

The subscribers are not happy as Amazon Prime Video introduces ads. On May 13, the OTT platform announced that Prime Video will feature limited ads starting June 17, 2025.

“This will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time. We aim to have meaningfully fewer ads than TV channels and other streaming services,” Amazon Prime said.

Amazon announced that current users require no action or change in their subscription plans, and Prime membership costs will not increase for them.
