After Devara, OG Falls Short of Salaar

Pawan Kalyan’s OG, directed by Sujeeth, released in theaters on September 25 amidst solid expectations of its box office performance, and though it performed well, at the end of the day, it falls short of Salaar just like NTR’s Devara.

Films like Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2, RRR, and Kalki are like event films that can pull a huge section of audiences towards the theaters because of the genre, span, and combination.

But Salaar is like a regular commercial film, which other big films can easily target for the Telugu version. Both Devara and OG take much bigger openings than Salaar in Telugu, but in the full run, Salaar leads over both films.

Salaar Leads over OG and Devara in Nizam-Overseas

In Andhra Pradesh, both OG and Devara collected on par and even more than Salaar. But in Nizam and Overseas, Salaar had a big lead over both films.

The Salaar Telugu version has collected 214 Cr share worldwide, whereas Devara collected around 200 Cr share. Pawan Kalyan’s OG even falls under Devara, and the film is still running in theaters, but the current numbers indicate it will close under 180 Cr in any case.

Both Devara and OG were expected to easily beat Salaar at their release time, but both have failed to live up to the expectations, and we need to see which film can beat Salaar next, or if Prabhas himself can beat Salaar with The Raja Saab.
