Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu watched her upcoming film Shaakuntalam for the first time a month before the film’s scheduled release date. Taking to her Social Media handle, Samantha shared a picture from the theater with director Gunashekar and the team, along with a note of appreciation for him. Her post not only praised the director, but it also sets a bar higher expectation from the film now.
“And I finally watched the movie today! Gunashekar garu.. You have my heart. What a beautiful film! One of our greatest epics brought to life so endearingly! I can’t wait for our family audiences to be swept away by the powerful emotions! And all you kids out there… you’re going to love our magical world! Dil Raju garu and Neelima… thank you for this wonderful journey. Shaakuntalam will forever be close to me!” her note read.
In the image, the team stood against the screen featuring Dev Mohan, Samantha, and the little Allu Arha, daughter of Allu Arjun. The image suggests being the climax shot of the film.
Made on a massive budget, Shaakuntalam is based on the internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play ‘Abhijnana Shaakuntalam’ and is all set to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. The film, which will also release in 3D, is being presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations together with Gunaa Team works and produced by Neelima Guna.
Gunasekhar directed Samantha’s Shaakuntalam. Dev Mohan plays King Dushyant’s role in this flick, while Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha plays Prince Bharata. Aditi Balan, Prakash Raj, Gauthami, Madhoo, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananya Nagalla will be seen in crucial roles. Mani Sharma composed the tunes for this film.
