Actor Chiyaan Vikram received a lot of acclaim for his performance as Aditha Karikalan in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2. However, he suffered a setback recently when he was injured during a rehearsal of Thangalaan, his upcoming film. According to his publicist, Vikram will take a break from the shooting of Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan for a while. In an official note, Vikram also thanked everyone who had supported him and praised him.
Vikram’s spokesperson, in a statement, said, “Thank you for all the love and appreciation Aditha Karikalan aka Chiyaan Vikram has received and for the astounding response to PS 2 from all over the world. Chiyaan sustained an injury during rehearsals resulting in a broken rib due to which he will not be able to join his Thangalaan unit for a short while. He thanks everyone, for your love and promises to be back on his feet and rocking at the earliest (in the original).”
Meanwhile, actress Malavika Mohanan who was selected for the lead role in the film, was busy in preparing herself for the movie by losing a lot of weight and getting fitter and appeared to be very elated to proceed with shooting for the film. Thangalaan also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu and Pasupathy Masilamani in important roles, and the film has music scored by GV Prakash Kumar.
