Mohanlal’s upcoming film Monster has been banned in Gulf countries. It is reported that countries including Kuwait have banned the release of this movie. The film will hit theaters in India on October 21.
As of now, the information about the ban is said to be unclear. Inside reports are suggesting that the Gulf countries have banned Monster films due to lesbian and LGBT content. Now after this information is that this movie which has been censored will be re-censored and will be released only after the clearance.
Mohanlal fans are worried that because of this issue movie may not be able to get good collections. Gulf countries are the biggest territory for Kerala cinemas as 90% of their overseas market is based in gulf countries. Now the film can not release simultaneously in Gulf countries on 21st as they need to re-apply for censorship and it will take a lot of time.
Mohanlal is playing the role of Lucky Singh in the film. This film marks the reunion of the Vaishakh and Mohanlal combo. Previously in their combination, a movie called “Pulimurugan” was made which became the first 100 crores grosser for the Malayalam industry.
‘Pulimurugan’ writer Uday Krishna has given the script for the Monster movie also. The cinematography of this film is provided by Satish Kurup. The film is produced by Anthony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas. Deepak Dev is composing the music for this film. Stunt Silva is the action choreographer.
The movie’s cast includes Lakshmi Manchu, Honey Rose, Sudev Nair, and Jess Sweejan, among others.
