Director Maruthi is one of Chiranjeevi’s biggest fans, and he has stated this many times in public, and directing Chiranjeevi has always been his dream, and discussions about a possible collaboration have already taken place.
There is also a buzz that Chiranjeevi showed strong interest during the story discussions. The plan was to start the film after completing their current commitments, but there was no news about it later.
Had The Raja Saab become a massive success, there was a high possibility that this project could materialize quickly. But The Raja Saab has brought heavy criticism for the director. In a recent interview, Maruthi said that he will be directing a Chiranjeevi film very soon.
The main question now is whether Chiranjeevi will trust Maruthi at this stage. One failure does not define a director’s capability, but the project may not begin immediately. Chiranjeevi is currently working on a film with Bobby, and after that, he is already committed to a project with Srikanth Odela. Completing these films alone could take until next year.
If Maruthi directs another film in between and makes a strong comeback, the chances of this combination happening will be much higher.
