Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR‘s War 2 is finally heading for its television premiere on Star Maa, nearly eight months after its theatrical release. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the action thriller features Kiara Advani as the female lead and serves as the sequel to War.

Despite massive pre-release hype, War 2 received mixed-to-negative reviews upon release and underperformed at the box office. The film faced criticism for its weak narrative, shallow writing, and underwhelming action sequences.
Even after its digital premiere on Netflix, War 2 continued to face criticism, with viewers echoing similar concerns about the film’s execution. Interestingly, Devara: Part 1, another film featuring Jr NTR, is yet to secure a satellite partner even nineteen months after release. Despite being labeled a “hit,” broadcasters are reportedly hesitant to meet the makers’ pricing expectations, highlighting the current cautious approach of satellite buyers in the Telugu market.
