The debacle of Mr Bachchan is a major setback for Ravi Teja, Harish Shankar, and more importantly, producer TG Vishwa Prasad. The film’s music and mass elements were expected to get the film off to a strong start. Unfortunately, the film’s poor talk and negative reviews led to extremely poor collections in every center.
The failure of Mr Bachchan has now taken an interesting turn. In a recent interview, even producer Vishwa Prasad said that Harish Shankar’s activities before the movie’s release affected the film, leading to targeted criticism. He also mentioned, “When we are strong, we can challenge anyone; when we are not, they will hit back.”
The producer also pointed out several other reasons for the movie’s failure. He added that Netflix forced the film to release on August 15th as Pushpa 2 got postponed. This impacted the post-production works, mainly editing which was heavily criticised. Due to this, the 2nd half missed the mark.
TG Vishwa Prasad also added that even going for a remake was a bad choice as they just took the basic line of the film and everything got changed. It would have been better had they approached Mr Bachchan with a fresh story with the same concept.
