Vikram’s upcoming film, Thangalaan directed by Pa. Ranjith is scheduled for release on August 15th. The film has completed the shoot and the censor formalities have also been completed. Thangalaan’s censor report is out and the film has a duration of 156 minutes which is 2 hours and 26 minutes.
Thangalaan meaning the Son of Gold saw only few cuts from the censor board. The film is all set to go now. The trailer of the film has already been released and received good response from the audience. This is also Vikram’s first collaboration with Pa. Ranjith who is known for making realistic films effectively. Vikram is eyeing to score a proper hit as he is missing a solo success for years. His last hit was Ponniyin Selvan series which was a big budgeted multi-starrer and directed by Mani Ratnam as well.
Thangalaan has good chances to become a hit if the content holds well. Actor Vikram is also said to utter no words in the film. Pa. Ranjith’s previous film, Sarpatta Parambarai starring Arya received rave reviews for its content and the peformances of several actors. Now, Thangalaan may even join the list if Pa. Ranjith lives up to the expectations.
