Vijay Deverakonda showed up for questioning by the ED on August 6. The actor spoke to the media about the issue and said he did nothing illegal. Fans are curious as Vijay Deverakonda talks about the betting app Case.

The actor clarified to the media that the investigation is about the supposed illegal promotion of betting sites, and there is nothing wrong on his part.

Vijay Deverakonda talks about the betting app case and confirms that he never promoted such a site or app. According to him, betting apps have nothing to do with gaming apps, and he only promoted a legal gaming app called A23. 

The Arjun Reddy actor also went on to say that gaming apps are legal in most states of the country. There are GST, permits, and registration for them, and they sponsor popular sports leagues like IPL, Kabaddi, and Volleyball. Vijay said that he gave all the details of his bank transactions, contract, and amount taken to the ED!

“There is an investigation going on regarding betting apps, but I was called for clarification on gaming apps. The Supreme Court and the state government will decide what is right or wrong,” he told reporters.

ED Questions Vijay Deverakonda and Prakash Raj Over Betting App Case – Many More Celebrities to be questioned soon

His statement comes days after actor Prakash Raj was questioned by the ED in the same case. The renowned actor appeared before the agency on July 30 after being named among 29 celebrities in an FIR filed by the Cyberabad police.

The FIR accuses actors and influencers of promoting betting apps through digital advertisements. Prakash Raj, who was reportedly associated with the gaming app Junglee Rummy in 2016, has clarified that he withdrew from the endorsement in 2017 after realizing it was inappropriate.

The ED is tracking financial transactions and digital trails linked to the celebrities named in the FIR. The list includes Rana Daggubati, Manchu Lakshmi, Nidhi Agarwal, Ananya Nagalla, and television anchor Srimukhi.
