But, with Vidaamuyarchi coming for Pongal, Karthik Subbaraj and the team announced a summer release date and began post-production works slowly. If Retro had been released on Pongal it would have had a blockbuster date and Suriya could have delivered the much-needed massive comeback with the help of festival advantage, and with no competition, he would have seen very big numbers at the box office.
