Vidaamuyarchi, starring Ajith released yesterday amid great expectations and hype. In Tamil Nadu alone, the Day 1 is said to be in the range of 28-29 crores which is, as said, a record start for Ajith. In Karnataka, as well, the film opened well with around 4.2 crores gross. The Rest of India’s gross is reported to be around 2.5 crores. Overall, the All India gross is estimated to be around 36 crores.
In the Overseas market, the film took a record start with more than 15 crores gross, making it a record for Ajith. Overall, the film opened with more than 50 crores gross worldwide. This is the new Opening Day record for Ajith, beating his previous best, Valimai. It is very interesting to see how the film holds on Day 2 to seal its fate. Makers expect it to continue the same momentum for this weekend.
