Tollywood’s senior Actor Venkatesh has dominated this year’s Sankranthi season once again with Sankranthiki Vasthunam proving that he remains the OG of Sankranthi. This was also mentioned today by Rana Daggubati, his paternal nephew. Venkatesh’s films which were released for the Sankranthi season in the past have also become blockbusters.
Starting from the year 2000, Venkatesh has 3 films becoming hits as a solo Actor with Kalisundam Raa, Lakshmi and Sankranthiki Vasthunam. He also happens to be the Actor with three multi-starrer hits with Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Gopala Gopala, and F2. This way, Venkatesh has nearly 6 Sankranthi winners in his pocket.
Interestingly, Ravi Teja has 3 solo Sankranthi hits with Krishna, Mirapakay, and Krack along with the multi-starrer Waltair Veerayya. Balakrishna has two solo winners Narasimha Naidu and Jai Simha followed by Mahesh Babu with Okkadu, Businessman along with the multi-starrer Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, and Allu Arjun with Desamuduru and Ala Vaikuntapurramulo.
Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna NTR, and Prabhas have only 1 solo hit for the Sankranthi Season with Khaidi No 150, Soggade Chinni Nayana, Adhurs, and Varsham. Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna also have 1 multi-starrer hit with Gopala Gopala, Waltair Veerayya and Bangarraju.
Rana posted praising Venkatesh as the OG of Sankranthi on his X/Twitter handle about the same. This tweet has gone viral now and many trade analysts also came in praise of Venkatesh for repeating the phenomenon.
