Varun Tej has revealed an exciting update about his upcoming film Bhari, confirming that he will share screen space with his father, Naga Babu, for the very first time. Making the project even more special, the film is being produced by his sister, Niharika Konidela, under her Pink Elephant Pictures banner. The announcement marks a unique milestone for the Konidela family, with father, son, and daughter coming together on the same project in different capacities.
National Award-Winning Director Helms the Project
Directed by Yadhu Vamsi, whose debut film Committee Kurrollu won the Best Telugu Feature Film at the National Film Awards 2024, Bhari is a period rural sports drama centered around volleyball. Like Committee Kurrollu_, this film is also produced under Niharika’s Pink Elephant Pictures banner, reuniting the successful director-producer combination.
Varun Tej plays the lead role and has reportedly undergone extensive training for the sport to prepare for the character. The film promises a blend of sports action, family emotions, and village drama, with Anudeep Dev, who also composed music for Committee Kurrollu, returning for this project.
A Mega Family Collaboration
Set against a rural backdrop, the volleyball-centric narrative is expected to showcase intense sports sequences combined with the emotional dynamics of village life. The period setting adds another layer of authenticity to the storytelling, marking a significant production for Niharika Konidela.
Power Star Pawan Kalyan gave the ceremonial first clap for Bhari, adding to the project’s significance within the Mega family. Currently in production, the film is targeting a Sankranti 2027 theatrical release. Fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing Varun Tej and Naga Babu together on the big screen for the first time, while the film’s unique premise and pedigree have generated strong curiosity across audiences.
