SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s Varanasi is less than six months away from release. But fans are still waiting for real content from the film. Birthday after birthday has gone by, and the team has shared nothing more than BTS stills. The silence is now making people wonder if the film will even arrive on time.
Birthdays Are Usually Big Days
In Indian cinema, birthdays of the lead stars and the director are prime days for updates. Teasers, glimpses, posters and special videos usually drop on these dates. For a film as big as Varanasi, fans expected something special every time.
That hasn’t happened.
One Occasion After Another
Mahesh Babu’s birthday in August came and went without a big update. The same happened on Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s birthday in July.
Yesterday was Prithviraj Sukumaran’s birthday, and once again, the team shared only BTS stills.
Even on Rajamouli’s own birthday last week, there was no update from the film.
Fans Want to See the Visuals
What’s hurting fans most is the complete lack of visual content. No making glimpse, no teaser, no short video. With the release so close, fans want at least a taste of the scale Rajamouli is building.
For a film this big, the silence has started to feel like a missed chance with every passing occasion.
Will Varanasi Hit Its Date?
The lack of updates has also started a new worry. Audiences are now asking whether Varanasi will release on its planned date or get pushed.
The doubt isn’t without reason. Big films often get postponed because of pending shoot and VFX work. Rajamouli’s own RRR was delayed more than once. Pushpa 2 and The Raja Saab also moved from their original dates.
With a film on the scale of Varanasi, heavy VFX and post-production work is a given. So when the team stays silent this close to release, people start to fear a delay.
Is Rajamouli Saving It All for the Trailer?
There may be a plan behind the silence. Rajamouli is known for controlling exactly when and how his films are revealed.
Last November, the team held a grand event in Hyderabad where the title Varanasi and a glimpse were revealed to a huge response. Rajamouli could be planning something similar this November, this time with a full trailer.
If that happens, it would end the postponement talk and make up for all the quiet months in one shot.
The Wait Continues
For now, fans have no choice but to wait. All eyes are on November, and the hope is that Rajamouli will finally open up his world, and confirm the date along with it.
