Varanasi Confirmed as a Single-Part Film

Ever since the announcement of Varanasi, starring Superstar Mahesh Babu and directed by SS Rajamouli, excitement has been sky-high among fans and within the industry. Many even speculated that the film would be made as a multi-part franchise. But Rajamouli has now clarified that Varanasi will be a single-part film.

The film’s team recently interacted with Hollywood media and shared several interesting details. Rajamouli explained that Varanasi is named after one of the world’s most ancient cities, deeply revered by millions for its cultural and religious significance. He said the weight carried by the name makes him feel even more responsible in how it is portrayed on screen.

No Sequels for Varanasi: A Grand Visual Experience

He also revealed that visually grand sequences, including portions inspired by the Ramayana and scenes set in Antarctica, required the IMAX format. According to him, IMAX is best suited to capture the film’s tall and expansive visuals.

Speaking about the runtime, Rajamouli confirmed that the film will be around three hours long and reiterated that Varanasi is planned as a standalone, single-part film.
