Recently released Kollywood film, Tourist Family starring Sasi Kumar and Simran is rocking the box office. The film achieved a unanimous positive response, and word of mouth, and performed very well, surprising trade analysts. It was to the level that it beat Suriya starrer Retro.
Tourist Family and Retro released on the same day, i.e., May 1st, recently. Retro grossed more than 15 crores in Tamil Nadu on the opening day whereas Tourist Family grossed only 2 crores. But with the positive word of mouth, Tourist Family managed to get the upper hand over Retro.
Retro grossed around 50-51 crores in Tamil Nadu for 2 weeks, while Tourist Family is set to cross Retro’s numbers today and is also expected to gross more than 20 crores in the final run. This again proves that content wins over stardom and big-budget films. This is indeed a big victory for the team of Tourist Family.
