Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated project with superstar Mahesh Babu, Varanasi, has run into a title-related controversy even before its official launch. Reports suggest that the makers are facing some complications regarding the registration of the title.
According to industry sources, the title “Varanasi” was already registered by another production house years ago.
Rajamouli’s team reportedly attempted to secure the title Varanasi for their film, but the prior registration has led to disputes. The matter gained attention after news broke that such a big director wants to choose it as the official title, sparking discussions in Tollywood circles.
Similar title disputes have occurred in the past in the Telugu Film industry, and they were often resolved through mutual agreements or legal intervention.
