Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar announced the arrest of Ravi, the administrator of notorious piracy websites iBomma and Bappam. The arrest was made following complaints that the websites were illegally uploading newly released films and OTT content.
Police investigations revealed that the website operators had possession of nearly 21,000 films, ranging from classics like The Godfather (1972) to recent releases such as OG.
Sajjanar, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, stated that iBomma Ravi was uploading pirated versions of films on the very day of their release, often by evening, causing huge losses to the film industry.
Authorities confirmed that both iBomma and Bappam websites have now been shut down as part of the crackdown.
