Everyone expected the film to take one of the biggest starts in Kollywood, and many even anticipated a 100 Cr plus opening, as Kollywood has that potential market with Leo and GOAT opening with more than 100 Cr on the first day. Thug Life sees a big crash at the box office on Monday

On Monday the film could gather around 2 Cr gross in Tamil Nadu, which says how big the drop at the box office is. With this, for 5 days Tamil Nadu’s gross will be just around 35 Cr, and the film cannot even cross 50 Cr also in closing.

In the Telugu states and Kerala, the film crashed from day 2 itself and did not see many numbers from there. So, with the weekend itself, the movie closes its run in these two territories. Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life crashes hard on the first Monday.

Thug Life Box Office: 100 Cr total looks tough now

The film opened at a decent level overseas, but it failed to maintain the momentum till the weekend. The Mani Ratnam directorial collected around 4.5M overseas for the weekend, and the closing is likely to be around 5M.

Overall, this much-hyped film failed to meet the expectations of fans and will close under 100 Cr, which is a massive failure.
