Vikram’s Tangalaan opens with decent reviews and WOM worldwide. Film managed to open big at the boxoffice taking the advantage of National Holiday on Thursday.
Vikram’s Thangalaan made Rs 17 crore at the box office on Thursday. The movie was released on August 15th in three languages: Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Thangalaan grossed 12 crores in Tamil, 2 crores in Telugu, and approximately 1 crore in Kerala and 1.2 crores in Karnataka on its first day. Overall, the film had a decent opening, grossing over 18 crore worldwide.
Thangalaan is a British period drama. After discovering the Kolar Gold Fields, the British sought the cooperation of the natives to exploit them. The plot is quite interesting, and Vikram did his best in this film. After Thangalaan, Vikram is looking forward to Veera Dheera Sooran. His film, Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Gautham Menon has yet to be released.
