Naga Chaitanya’s latest film ‘Thandel’ has taken the box office by storm, setting new records in his career. The film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, has performed exceptionally well in its opening weekend, emerging as the highest-grossing first weekend for any Akkineni hero.
With a phenomenal start, ‘Thandel’ collected a whopping ₹31.06 crore worldwide share in just three days.
In the Telugu states alone, the film raked in ₹24.56 crore, with Nizam leading at ₹10.65 crore. Ceeded contributed ₹3.3 crore, while Andhra Pradesh territories also saw impressive numbers—₹3.4 crore from UA, ₹1.86 crore from East, ₹1.42 crore from West, ₹1.55 crore from Guntur, ₹1.48 crore from Krishna, and ₹0.9 crore from Nellore. The film also performed well outside AP/TG, collecting ₹2.75 crore from the rest of India and ₹3.75 crore from overseas markets.
With the worldwide theatrical rights valued at ₹40 crore, ‘Thandel’ has already achieved 77% recovery. The film now needs an additional ₹10 crore share to reach the hit status, which seems easily achievable given the strong hold at the box office. If it maintains steady momentum, ‘Thandel’ could become Naga Chaitanya’s first film to cross the ₹50 crore share mark.
This milestone not only solidifies Naga Chaitanya’s position in Telugu cinema but also highlights the growing success of content-driven films. Fans and trade analysts eagerly await how far ‘Thandel’ will go in the coming days.
