Thaman, Dont Blast Us

Thaman, the No. 1 music director in Telugu cinema, has contributed massively to many blockbusters with his terrific background score and chartbuster songs. However, in recent times, he has been facing heavy criticism for his sound mixing. Especially, Thaman’s work for Akhanda 2 is getting severe backlash.

Keeping all other films aside, for Akhanda’s success, Thaman was undeniably one of the biggest reasons. His powerful background score and impactful sound design hugely elevated the film. So despite the recent criticism, everyone expected Thaman to make a strong comeback with Akhanda 2.

But shockingly, Thaman delivers very sluggish and inconsistent sound mixing this time. In several portions, the audio even feels irritating; the constant loudness makes the song lyrics unclear, and some dialogues are also not in sync. Thaman was the No. 1 positive point for the first part, according to the audience and critics’ feedback, but in Akhanda 2, his background score is being listed as one of the major negatives and is receiving backlash. This clearly shows how drastically the perception has changed.

Even audiences are openly saying, “Thaman, enough of this loud and blasting music. Stop blasting us and bring back the vintage Thaman who scores the music perfectly, syncs with the film, and evokes emotions.”

While the story and scenes of Akhanda 2 are not as strong as the first part, there were still plenty of moments where Thaman had scope to elevate the film. Instead, he went for continuous loud sound, which affected the experience.
