There has been a small quest for the director of Thalaivar 173, Rajinikanth’s next film under the production of Kamal Haasan. Initially, Sundar C was all set to take on this project, but he left it, citing creative differences.
Later, the names of multiple directors emerged for this film, and finally Rajinikanth is said to be showing interest in collaborating with Parking movie director Ramkumar Balakrishnan.
“Parking” was a commercial success and received critical acclaim. The director was initially set to work with Simbu, but that didn’t happen. Now, the news is that he has adapted the same story, making changes to suit Rajinikanth, and has narrated it to him.
Reportedly, Rajinikanth has liked the script, and there are increased chances for Ramkumar Balakrishnan to become the director of Thalaivar 173. The official announcement is expected on Rajinikanth’s birthday, December 12th, with the shoot expected to begin in March 2026.
