Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Anand L Rai has been released in theaters today, and received mostly positive reviews but with a twist: The music of AR Rahman in the film gets a mixed response.

A.R. Rahman is renowned as one of the greatest music directors in Indian cinema, having created numerous memorable albums. However, for the past decade or so, some audiences feel he hasn’t produced work as strong as he did in the 90s and 2000s.

Often called the “Mozart of Madras,” the musician crafted a chart-topping hit for Ram Charan’s “Peddi,” which has since gone viral on social media. In contrast, AR Rahman’s music for Dhanush’s “Tere Ishk Mein” has garnered a mixed reaction, with some praising the songs while others dislike them.

Regarding the film’s box office performance, Dhanush is poised to achieve a double-digit opening with Tere Ishk Mein, solidifying his pan-India stardom. He has already scored double-digit gross on the first day for Kubera in Telugu and Idli Kadai in Tamil.
