Thaman’s loud BGM has worked in favor of many films — we’ve seen theater speakers almost blast because of his powerful sound. But now, it’s becoming a bit of a problem and receiving criticism.
Thaman’s songs are also not working unanimously like before. His recent tracks are not recording millions of views as they once did. The main reason is the excessive loudness — people are unable to clearly hear the lyrics and are finding it hard to connect with the songs. Even the BGM often sounds overpowering.
Telusu Kada is a love triangle drama where the music should ideally be soothing and soft. But even in this film, Thaman used a loud BGM that feels completely out of sync with the tone of the story. While his loud scores definitely work for mass songs and high-energy scenes, the problem is that he’s using the same approach everywhere — making it sound repetitive and noisy.
Sound should always match the content, and that synchronization seems to be missing lately. In Telusu Kada, While the songs received a good response, the BGM is receiving unanimous criticism.
