The court recommended that the state government issue directives to all parties involved on regulating the entry of children under 16 into theaters and multiplexes before 11 am and after 11 pm.

The High Court conducted a hearing on Monday regarding petitions filed on issues such as an increase in movie ticket prices and the granting of permissions for special shows. During the hearing, the petitioner’s advocate argued that children attending late-night shows negatively impact their health.
This move may impact several special shows and late-night shows in multiplexes. The court noted that letting kids go outside and watch movies at midnight or in the early hours of the morning may harm their physical and emotional well-being. The next hearing on this issue will be held on February 22nd.
