Sushmita Konidela, film producer and daughter of Megastar Chiranjeevi, has been appointed as a special invitee to the Trust Board of the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devasthanam in Vijayawada by the Andhra Pradesh government.
The official appointment order was issued on September 7, 2026, by K Kanna Babu, Secretary of the Endowments Department (FAC). Sushmita Konidela is set to assume her duties as a special invitee to the temple’s governing body, located atop Indrakeeladri Hill in Vijayawada.
Role and Responsibilities
The Andhra Pradesh government has entrusted significant responsibilities to the Tollywood producer in her new role. As a special invitee to the Vijayawada Durga Temple Trust Board, Sushmita Konidela will offer suggestions and advice regarding facilities for devotees visiting the deity atop Indrakeeladri.
She will also provide guidance on temple development activities and special festivals. Her appointment comes ahead of the Dasara festival, one of the most significant celebrations at the temple.
Mega Family’s Growing Influence
This appointment marks another milestone for the Konidela family in temple administration. A few weeks ago, Chiranjeevi’s wife, Surekha Konidela, was appointed as a member of the governing body of the Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam in Telangana and has recently assumed her duties.
With Pawan Kalyan serving as Deputy Chief Minister in the AP coalition government, the Mega family’s presence in key positions has grown. Recently, MLC Nagababu was appointed as Chairman of the AP Green Executive Committee, a position that carries cabinet rank.
Sushmita’s Journey as Producer
Konidela Sushmita is making her mark as a producer in Tollywood under the ‘Gold Box Entertainment’ banner. She achieved success during Sankranti 2025 with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, a film produced alongside her father Chiranjeevi that became one of the biggest hits of the season.
