Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi was a disappointing fare at the box-office and failed to make the impact it promised. Touted to be an engaging action thriller, the film couldn’t capture audience’s attention in theatres and many criticised the film for its pacing and screenplay.
The film was released earlier this month on 6th February and shockingly it will make its OTT debut within than 4 weeks of theatrical release. This is due to the high amount paid by Netflix and the movie’s poor run at the box office. The film has already ended its run with around 145 Cr gross worldwide.
Netflix made an official announcement a while ago regarding the film’s digital premiere. It will be released on 3rd March in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Directed by Magizh Thirumeni Vidaamuyarchi was released in theatres on February 6, 2025. It is a remake of the 1997 American film Breakdown.
Produced by Lyca Productions, Vidaamuyarchi also starred Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, and Aarav in key roles. Anirudh composed the music for this action thriller which featured some stylish power-packed chases and action sequences shot on a grand scale.
