In an interesting development, actor Sree Vishnu is set to release two of his upcoming films, Mrityunjay and Vishnu Vinyasam, on the same day, February 27, 2026. The last time this happened was in 2015, when Nani had two releases, Yevade Subramanyam and Jenda Pai Kapiraju, on a single day.
Both films are produced by different banners, and their business deals, especially OTT agreements, are completely separate. If one film is postponed, the producer will have to renegotiate several deals, which could lead to financial losses. That is said to be the main reason why both films are sticking to the same release date.
Vishnu Vinyasam, directed by debutant Yadunaath Maruthi Rao, revolves around a man who is deeply obsessed with astrology and superstition. Nayan Sarika plays the female lead opposite Sree Vishnu, and the film is produced by Sumanth Naidu G.
On the other hand, Mrityunjay is an investigative thriller directed by Hussain Sha Kiran. The film stars Sree Vishnu in the lead role, with Reba Monica John playing a police officer named Seetha Parasuram.
As of now, neither film appears willing to step back from the February 27, 2026, release date. If things remain unchanged, Sree Vishnu will have the rare achievement of releasing two films on the same day.
