Spark, the film featuring debutant Vikrant in the lead role had created a good craze around it with the stunning promos and good songs. The film has been released in theaters today. Unfortunately, it turns out to be a Lifeless and Clumsy take. Scroll down for Spark Movie Review.

Story: Lekha (Mehreen Pirzada) has high hopes for her life partner and rejects every other man her father proposes to her. She has an immediate crush on Arya (Vikrant), her new neighbor. On the other side, people in Hyderabad City kill themselves in some strange situations, and they kill their nearest members before committing suicide. Lekha’s parents believe Arya is responsible for the suicides as they got to know about his past. Who is responsible for the inexplicable deaths? What is the flashback of Arya Aka Jai? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Performances: Vikrant, who made his acting debut, looked good and performed decently. Mehreen and Rukshar Dhillon both looked excellent and satisfactory as far as performance is concerned. Vennela Kishore and Satya spread some relief here and there. Suhasini Mani Ratnam was good, while Guru Somasundaram delivered a convincing performance. Nazar, Brahmaji, Raja Ravindra, and others were apt.

Positives:

  • Main Plot
  • Production Values
  • Few Twists in the Second half

Negatives:

  • Immature Direction
  • Weak Narrative
  • Silly emotional scenes

Spark Movie Review and Verdict:

Spark could have been an exciting crime thriller, but it comes across as a lifeless and clumsy take. Debutante Vikrant’s efforts, production values, and a few twists in the second half work well for the film, but weak narrative, immature direction, and false emotions completely ruin the impact.
