Sivakarthikeyans’s fantasy action drama Maaveeran was released in theatres on 14th July and opened to mostly positive reviews from the audiences. There were some issues with the pacing in the second half and some scenes, but overall, the verdict was, Entertaining Movie. The noon shows of the film started on an ordinary note. Perhaps this is because the film was poorly promoted. Another factor might also be that Sivakarthikeyan’s last film Prince did not quite impress the audiences.

Nonetheless, as word of mouth about the film started to spread, the film started to attract audiences to the theatres. The numbers began to increase and the movie enjoyed a fantastic opening weekend at the box office.

In Tamil Nadu alone, the film has collected in the range of 26 crores. Coming to Karnataka, the film has collected around 3 crores. In the Telugu states, surprisingly, the film has only collected 2.5 crores in gross collections.

Coming further south, In Kerala, the film has collected 85 Lakhs, and the Rest of India’s collections stand at around 40 Lakhs overall. So in total, the film collected a superb opening of 33 crores in India. And it does not end here, the overseas collections are also mighty impressive, with 11 crores. Thereby, making the total worldwide gross box office collections of Maaveeran, a whopping 44 crores.

With the current talk, the movie is sure to rake in some more money till 21st of July. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Aditi Shankar, Yogi Babu, Sunil, Mysskin, and a bunch of others in important roles. The film has been directed by Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin.
