In a surprising development, ace director Shankar has put the entire blame of Indian 2 delay on Kamal Haasan and producers Lyca Production.
Reacting to the case filed by Lyca Productions, the filmmaker has now filed a counter-petition. In the petition, he has accused both the production house and the actor of the delay.
He also cited that some of the scenes performed by late actor Vivek had to be reshot. The star comedian had passed away last month. In the petition, Shankar stated that initially, Kamal Haasan suffered a makeup allergy delaying the shoot. The crane accident on the sets of the film that killed 3 crew members was also a reason for the delay.
The project which started shoot amidst much fanfare has faced continuous stoppages and now the shoot has completely stalled. This has left the project in jeopardy with no foreseeable future. Adding to this, lead actor Kamal Haasan’s political entry and TN elections have also added to the delay.
Another accusation that is causing legal troubles for Shankar is that he has already used up Rs 180 crore of the allotted Rs 236 crores budget. The makers have demanded a restraining order on Shankar from working on any other project till Indian 2 is completed.
