Rajinikanth and Nelson’s Jailer sequel is set for a June 2026 release, generating significant buzz among audiences due to the success of the first film. Recent reports circulating in industry circles suggest Shah Rukh Khan may be joining the cast of Jailer 2 for a cameo.
The first of the Jailer had several cameos, which worked really well, as the director, Nelson, designed the cameos extraordinarily, and they were also well placed in the story.
After Jailer’s huge success, many directors attempted to replicate the cameo formula, including director Lokesh Kanagaraj with Coolie, but it wasn’t successful. Reportedly, Jailer 2 will feature numerous cameos, and the makers are reportedly pursuing Shah Rukh Khan for an important role.
If Shahrukh Khan agrees, the shoot will be planned for December. We need to see how it goes finally, but if it happens for real, then definitely it will become a big asset for the film.
Nelson and the team reportedly planned a cameo for Balakrishna from Telugu, but the veteran wasn’t convinced to accept the offer. It will be interesting to see how SRK, who has always stated he is a big fan of Rajinikanth, will respond to this proposal.
