Getting a 100 crore opening for an Indian film is a very big challenge. Prabhas has achieved a hat-trick of 100 Cr grossers, which NTR and Shah Rukh Khan also failed to achieve, but Thalapathy Vijay is all set to join the elite club.

A very few crazy, high-buzz films achieve this milestone. In such a scenario, delivering a hat-trick of ₹100 crore openings is an even bigger challenge.

Prabhas came close with Baahubali 2 and Saaho, while Shah Rukh Khan achieved back-to-back ₹100Cr+ openings with Pathaan and Jawan. Similarly, NTR delivered massive openings with RRR and Devara.

Vijay is all set to join Prabhas in the ₹100 Cr hat-trick grossers club

But the first possible hat-trick streak was broken by Radhe Shyam for Prabhas, Dunki for Shah Rukh Khan, and War 2 for NTR ended their chances of achieving the initial hat-trick

Later, Prabhas made history by creating the hat-trick himself, delivering three consecutive 100Cr+ openings with Adipurush, Salaar, and Kalki 2898 AD. With this, Prabhas became the only Indian hero to achieve this feat.

Now, Vijay is all set to join this elite club. Getting a ₹100 crore opening in Kollywood is an even bigger task, as Tamil films generally do not carry a massive Hindi market. Even though only a few films like Leo, GOAT, and Coolie crossed the 100Cr mark, Vijay delivered back-to-back 100Cr+ openings with Leo and GOAT.

Now, with Jana Nayagan, Vijay is all set to achieve a 100Cr opening hat-trick. In any scenario, Jana Nayagan is expected to open with a minimum 110Cr+ worldwide, and with this, Vijay officially joins the Prabhas elite club on 9th January.
