Sathyam Sundaram, the Telugu dubbed version of Tamil film Meiyazhagan starring Karthi released with very low buzz ahead of the release. The film received a very good word of mouth but it was able to pull only a little section of audiences to the theatres. Sathyam Sundaram finished its 1st weekend performance decently and the box office collections are as follows:
In Tamil Nadu, the film has collected nearly 11 crores gross and Telugu States dubbed version’s contribution was around 3 crores which is just okayish. Kerala has added another 40 Lakhs. The total India wide gross stands at 16 crores. Overseas collections were good with 8 crores gross. The total worldwide gross of the 1st weekend stands at 24 crores. This is an average-decent performance as said from the film.
The film needs to hold strong in the week days to post big numbers at the end of the second weekend. The film will definitely pick up in Telugu version with the mouth talk it has been getting. Makers of the film have also trimmed some portions of the runtime after getting audience’s feedback about these unnecessary scenes.
