Ranga Marthanda, creative director Krishna Vamsi’s latest film, was released on the last weekend. Before the release, the unit had arranged special premiers for the close circles in the industry, and all the industry people who have watched the film had praised the movie at another level.
The critics did the same as they have also given super positive reviews. But the ultimate judges of the film, audience, gave a different reaction to the film. The audience was not connected to the film in the same way as the critics, media, and industry people.
As a result, the film ended up with a disaster verdict at the box office, which proves again that the audience are very different from industry people, media, and critics. What is important for any film is the audience, as they are the deciders of the results of films.
Krishna Vamshi, who is hailed as a talented senior director, made the film Rangamarthanda. The film starred popular actors such as Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, and Ramya Krishna. Though the film did not become a hit, everyone appreciated the performance of Brahmanandam. Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna also got good remarks for their act.
The film is an official remake of Marathi movie “Natsamrat”. The film tells us the story of Raghava Rao, who is a legendary theater actor who is awarded with the title Rangamarthanda. Upon his retirement, he marries his younger daughter and gives his property to his elder son’s wife, and wishes to lead a peaceful retired life. However, things don’t go accordingly, and there are troubles within the family. What problems did Raghava Rao and his wife face after that form the rest of the story.
