Trivikram’s dream project, God of War, may be heading into uncertain territory. According to industry buzz, the big-budget film with NTR could face serious trouble, and there’s even talk that it might be shelved.
The Announced Project
God of War was officially announced under the Haarika & Hassine Creations and NTR Arts banners, with Anirudh Ravichander confirmed as the music director. The film is planned as a massive pan-India mythological project.
But in the film industry, plans can change quickly, and that’s what seems to be happening now.
A Long Partnership Under Strain
Trivikram and Haarika & Hassine Creations share one of the strongest associations in Telugu cinema. Ever since their partnership began, Trivikram has not made a single film outside the banner.
But that bond is now said to be under strain.
Trouble Since Aadarsha Kutumbam
During the repeated postponements of Aadarsha Kutumbam, there was talk in industry circles that some disputes had come up over terms between the two sides.
After the film’s release, things reportedly got worse. Aadarsha Kutumbam has turned out to be a big box office failure, collecting around ₹65 Cr gross in its first week against a ₹125 Cr break-even.
A Possible Split
There is now strong buzz that the Trivikram and Haarika & Hassine association might come to an end. Trivikram is even said to be considering a film with another producer.
Neither side has said anything officially.
Why God of War Would Be Hit First
If the split happens, God of War would be the first film affected.
This isn’t a regular Trivikram film. For the first time, he is aiming for a big visual spectacle, and that needs a massive scale and a huge budget, possibly in the range of ₹400 Cr to ₹500 Cr.
The Budget Risk
Even with NTR’s huge pan-India stardom, a budget of that size is a big risk right now. The OTT market has slowed down, and streaming platforms are no longer paying the kind of prices they once did. That means producers can’t recover as much before release.
For a film like God of War, the producer would carry a heavy burden going into release, and the money could only be recovered if the film becomes a big hit in every market. If anything goes wrong, the losses could be huge.
That risk exists for every big pan-India film today, and it makes finding the right producer for God of War even more important.
Waiting for Clarity
For now, God of War remains officially on. But with Trivikram’s recent results, the reported strain with his long-time producers and the tough market conditions, the project’s future is far from certain.
Fans of both NTR and Trivikram will be hoping for an official update soon.
