Dhanush’a Raayan is running successfully in theatres and heading towards the Rs 150 crore mark. The film’s total worldwide gross collections are close to 130 crores and the Tamil version alone stands close to 115 crores. With this, Raayan beats Indian 2 and becomes the leading Tamil Film of 2024 as well.
The film was Dhanush’s 50th film and its success has come as a huge relief for the actor/director who had pinned great hopes on the project. Discussions on the Raayan sequel have cropped up with the film’s major success.
The film’s digital rights were bought by Prime Video and Sun Pictures, the producers will also release the film on their platform Sun NXt. The film will stream on these two platforms and it’s expected to stream in August last week.
Directed by Dhanush himself, Raayan also stars SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Selva Raghavan, Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan in key roles. The music for the film is composed by AR Rahman. Raayan is an action thriller backed by Sun Pictures and is slated to release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
