Producers Announce Worker Pay Hike

The Federation has expressed dissatisfaction over the recent decision taken by the Producers' Council and Film Chamber on the wage hike for cine workers. The producers announced a pay hike for workers, which they did not agree with. As said above, the Film Chamber had recently decided to increase the wages of those earning Rs 2000 or less in three installments. The Employees' Federation did not react positively to this decision. Federation President Anil said that this decision will divide the members of the Federation. He demanded that the wages of 13 unions that earn daily wages should be increased. The Federation members accuse the producers of saying that only 10 unions will get a wage increase, and the rest of them are still left with less wages.

A few days ago, TFEF (Telugu Film Employees’ Federation) called for a strike, as they wanted their wages to be hiked by 30%. After multiple discussions, producers announced a pay hike for workers, which they had not agreed to.

Producers give clarity on wage hike

The Telugu Film Chamber has given a green signal for workers earning Rs 2000 or less per day to increase their wages by 15% in the first year, 5% in the second year, and 5% in the third year.

Producers are also willing to increase the wages by 20% in the first year for workers earning Rs 1000 or less per day, and they will get a 0% hike in the second year and 5% in the third year.

TFEF Not Happy With Producers Council’s Decision

The Telugu Film Employees’ Federation has expressed dissatisfaction over the recent decision taken by the Producers’ Council and Film Chamber on the wage hike for cine workers.

The Employees’ Federation demands the increase in Wages for all unions

Federation President Anil said that this decision will divide the members of the Federation. He demanded that the wages of 13 unions that earn daily wages should be increased. The Federation members accuse the producers of saying that only 10 unions will get a wage increase, and the rest of them are still left with lower wages.

They demand a wage increase for the remaining three unions: Dancers, Fighters, and Technicians. They said that they would not agree to the 4 conditions set by the producers and announced that they would protest at Annapurna Seven Acres tomorrow morning.

Producers and workers are still fighting over the wages issue

Federation President Anil Vallabhaneni made it clear that they would participate in the discussions if the chamber calls them again on Monday. With this, the issue of Tollywood workers vs. producers seems to be not ending soon.

The Film Chamber is not ready to hike the wages according to the Federation’s wish. Producers already say that they are providing more wages. Let us see where the issue goes with this protest.
