Prabhas could be teaming up with one of Telugu cinema’s most exciting young directors. Karthik Gattamaneni, who made the superhero film Mirai, is said to be in talks with Prabhas for a new project under People Media Factory.
A Film to Make Up for The Raja Saab
Prabhas has committed another film to People Media Factory, the banner that produced The Raja Saab. The Raja Saab didn’t do well at the box office and caused losses for the producers, and this new film is Prabhas’ way of making up for it.
For the project, People Media Factory has brought in Karthik Gattamaneni as the director.
Story Sittings in Progress
Story discussions between Prabhas and Karthik are said to be already underway. If everything falls into place, the film is likely to be confirmed soon.
Why Karthik Gattamaneni
Karthik Gattamaneni impressed audiences with Mirai, the superhero film starring Teja Sajja, which was also produced by People Media Factory. Before turning director, Karthik was a well-known cinematographer, and Mirai showed his flair for big visuals and world-building on a controlled budget.
That mix of scale and smart filmmaking makes him an interesting choice for a Prabhas film.
When Will It Start?
Prabhas has a packed line-up, and the new film will have to wait its turn.
- Fauzi: releasing March 19, 2027
- Spirit: releasing October 29, 2027 (Diwali)
- Kalki 2: in progress
Prabhas is expected to finish his commitments for Fauzi, Spirit and Kalki 2 next year. Once he’s free from Spirit, he is likely to start the Karthik Gattamaneni film, working on it in parallel with Kalki 2.
Salaar 2 is also on the cards, with Prashanth Neel set to return to it after Dragon.
A Busy Road Ahead
With so many big projects lined up, Prabhas’ calendar is full for the next few years. A film with Karthik Gattamaneni would add a fresh, young director to that list, and fans are already curious about what kind of world the Mirai director could build around the Rebel Star.
